Our brand new community garden was recently completed and open for use. Conceived, planned, and created as a Silver Award project by Girl Scout Troop 15, it was recently completed with help from First Pres church volunteers and already started in use. There are 12 raised beds in place, with 5 of them currently spoken for by church members. The remaining beds are available on a first come, first serve basis by any church member or person in the Newark community.
Bed owners are responsible for planting, care, and harvesting their crops. We ask that 10% of the yield per bed be donated to our Food For Success ministry. If you are interested in taking care of a bed, or just have some questions about the garden, please contact Melody Bock or Harvey Conner. You also can contact the church office, who will pass your request along.
