Anyone stopping by Memorial Hall West at First Pres church during the week of Dec 9-13 might have thought that a supermarket’s worth of groceries had exploded in the room. Foods of all sorts were stocked on and under tables throughout the room as the Newark Area Welfare Center held its annual Holiday Food Program. Over 100 volunteers from throughout the Newark community, including our church, helped to collect, unload, and organize food, cold weather clothing, and toys from Monday through Friday. This was given out to home-bound neighbors and to those facing food insecurity. over 750 adults and children were served this holiday!
