Christian is a native of the St. Louis area (Illinois side), the third of four sons. Being a middle child could perhaps explain his personality in some ways, but here are more pertinent facts. From that fateful year in 6th grade when he joined a choir for the first time, and also began plunking notes on his friend's piano, to over twenty years later in the present moment, music has been central to his life. After some minor validation for his compositions in high school, he made the major decision to study composition in college, getting his Bachelors of Music in Composition from Webster University in St. Louis and his Master of Arts in Composition from Durham University in the UK.
Over the years he has amassed experience in a wide variety of realms: performing in musicals and opera scenes, both on stage and in the pit; playing piano for choirs and soloists; singing in choirs, such as the St. Louis Symphony Chorus; teaching piano lessons; and so on. His career as a church musician began with the emergency filling in for his friends' Catholic masses, which lasted some eleven years. While in England, he was assistant music director for college Anglican services. Back in St. Louis, he rose quickly from being pianist/organist at Trinity Presbyterian to Director of Music. And during his brief time in Michigan, he played piano for Methodist services.
Recently, he and his partner Mike celebrated 10 years of knowing each other, and both will soon celebrate 9 years of their lovely "tortie", Morgan le Fey. A creator to his core, Christian enjoys building, crafting, writing, playing games that involve such things, and getting distracted too often from doing any of that.
